TERRACE BAY RECREATION NEWS The playground program is now half over for the summer but it still isn't too late to come" out and join in the fun! Last Wednesday morning the 5 & 6 year olds tried their hand at business as they set up stands and sold ice cold lemonade in the down- town area. If it wasn't for Paul Hara - Col- bey's loud sales pitch and the leaders' efforts in keeping the kids from drinking up the pro- duct, the event wouldn't have been the success it was. Special thanks to the people who stopped and bought some lemonade. : It looked like bad weather would put an end to a swimming party at Rainbow Falls planned for the 5 to 9 year olds, but Friday afternoon, leaving the fog behind in Terrace Bay, the group headed by bus to the park. Here the kids swam, ate their lunches, then caught tad- poles before getting on the bus and singing most of the way home. Just after getting off the bus, Kevin Regis, who brought his tadpoles home in a pop can, offered a "drink of pop" to an unsuspecting boy who happened to be pass- ing by and who accepted the drink. Kevin was suddenly short one tadpole and the other boy a little queasy after he realized what he had swallowed. That evening, the I0 to I2 year old girls, the leaders, and Mrs. Pam Jones and her daught- er headed out to Rainbow Falls for an overnight camping trip. Except for a few mishaps - one leader who remembered to pack everything but her food and a campfire that took almost an hour to light - everyone had a great time and especially want to thank Mrs. Jones and the parents who provided transportation for the girls and leaders. Thank you to all those who gave their time to making the meet a success. Watch for later news on the up- coming local meet on August IIth. August 7th is the date for the swimathon.
