Mesdames Bern Whent, Margaret Spillane, L. Christie and W. Clemens were named lunch host- esses for the next meeting. Following the meeting there was a round of games, arranged by Mrs. Wallace, Mrs. Clemens and Mrs. Macadam, an exchange of gifts and a social hour. REBEKAH'S PLAN CHILDREN'S PARTY The Schreiber Rebekah Lodge at their Decem- ber I2th meeting planned a children's Christ- mas party, to be held in the United Church hall, with every member to bring a child to meet Santa Claus. Names were drawn for the Unknown Friend pro- gram for the coming year, whereby members re- ceive cards for birthdays and other occasions, the sender concealing her identity by various means. Mrs. Hamilton reported on the December 7th penny auction, and also presented a lengthy sick and visiting account - many members ill at home or in hospital. Mrs. Bernice Whent presented the treasurer's report. Minutes were adopted as read by Mrs. Beth Macadam. Mrs. Lil Harris, N.G. and Mrs. Gladys Hamil-| ton, V.G., were in charge of the meeting which was followed by the Christmas party and an ex- change of gifts, presented by Santa. Mrs. Win- nie Clemens, convener of the party, had arrang- ed some amusing games, and a lunch served from .gaily-decorated table. Degree practice will follow the next meet- ing on January 9. MACADAM HONOURED ON 80TH BIRTHDAY Mr. and Mrs. Russell Macadam held a tea in honour of the former's mother, Mrs. Jessie Macadam, to mark her 80th birthday. Mrs. Macadam had grown up in Schreiber and lived in Schreiber until she entered Pinewood Court - later to Birchwood Terrace, and many old friends called to offer congratulations, and reminisce over other days and events. Mrs. Mary Chadwell, an old friend, poured tea and Mrs. Margaret Handel and Mrs. Margaret Spillane, neices, with Mrs. Eva Gordon ascist- ed the hostess in serving. The Christmas scenes and symbols in all of the Spadoni Firms' windows are the admiration of everyone in town, most believing them to be enormous stencils. But they were done free- hand, and backward, by two neices, Tana and Cora Morrow, teenage daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Morrow. Nola Fummerton was home from Western Univer- sity with her family for Christmas. Christmas visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Roffey and family included Mr. and Mrs. Jim Roffey and baby daughter Amy Lynn and Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Bellhouse, all of Brantford.
