Councillor Megraw and Helmink will look into equipment needed such as lawn mower, snow blow- er and saw and will decide on what would be the best suitable to purchase. A photo studio has requested to purchase a monthly transient traders permit, rather than paying the yearly fee of $100. Council felt if they make an exception for one they would have to do it for all and will notify the stud- io they will have to pay the yearly rate. Two invitations for the Queen's visit were received from Thunder Bay, but no representativ- es from Terrace Bay are able to attend. Council was informed that the Thunder Bay District Municipal League is considering dis- banding and will write to discourage this. If this league disbands there will be no represen- tation from Northwestern Ontario at Queens Park. Public Relations Committee The McCausland Hospital THE LAKE SUPERIOR BOARD MEETING The Lake Superior Board of Education held its regular board meeting on June 2Ist at Marathon High School. Students of Grade I3, Marathon High School, who conducted a survey of "chemicals, alcohol, cigarette smoking and hash", attended by their teacher Mr. A.J. Korkola, and with Miss Debb- ie Henderson as their very able speaker, pre- sented a synopsis of the background of Proj- ect C.A.S.H., its pruposes, method of opera- tion and recommendations, following which sev- eral questions invited were clearly explained by Miss Henderson. The recommendations of the group are to be passed to the Principals' Council for study, with a report to be made to the Board. The role of Trustees elected by Separate School Electors was discussed. These Trustees are elected for secondary school purposes. It was felt that procedures used in the past will be continued, with great care being made in the preparation of motions to keep separate elementary and secondary matters where practi- cable. The Minutes of Meeting No. 5/73 held May 26th were declared adopted and the Minutes of Meeting No. 33 of the Trainable Retarded Child -ren's Advisory Committee were acknowledged as received.
