Terrace Bay nor Rossport have parking meters. Lester McCuaig was appointed to arrange a lunch for the next meeting. FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR J. LALONDE The funeral of the late Joseph Iliaire La- londe, whose death occurred in a Thunder Bay Hospital, after an illness of fourteen years, was conducted in Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church in Schreiber on May 23rd by Father O'Flaherty. Pall bearers were Gino Caccamo, Milton Win- ters, Andrew Miller, Robert Ellacott, Joe Commisso, all of Schreiber and Frank Woodruff of Terrace Bay. Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. Mr. Lalonde is survived by his wife, the former Anne Picklyk, to whom he was married in Winnipeg in I94I; a son Larry, of Terrace Bay; two daughters, Carole (Mrs. Robert Willox) of Winnipeg; Brenda at home, and five grandchild- ren; two sisters - Mrs. Anne Kelsch, Montreal; Mrs. Jean St. Amour, Ottawa and three brothers- Edgar of Cornwall, Earl and Walter of Montreal He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Lalonde, Mr. Lalonde, who was 62 years old, was born in Apple Hill, Ontario and came to Schreiber in I947, being employed in the Kimberly Clark Mill in Terrace Bay until his fatal illness. Among those from out of town attending the funeral were Mrs. Robert Willox, Winnipeg; Mrs. Anne Kelsch, Montreal; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Lalonde, Terrace Bay; Edgar Lalonde, Cornwall; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Boureois, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Picklyk, Thunder Bay; and many friends from Terrace Bay. Lake Superior High School has retained the N.S.S.S.A.A. championships in track and field with a convincing point total of 228 points. Manitouwadge was second with I44 points, Wawa third with I23% points, Nip Rock fourth with I05% points, Marathon fifth with 47 points and Chapleau sixth with 26 points. Individual champions in Lake Superior school were Donna Dakin, midget girls' division; Gerard Pineault in midget boys' division; Lonnie Connelly in senior boys. and two brothers and three sisters. STEWART-NESBITT VOWS EXCHANGED The marriage of Linda Arlene Nesbitt, dau-" ghter of Mr. and Mrs. G.H. Nesbitt, of Schrei- ber, and Donald Lance Stewart, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Stewart of Terrace Bay, was solemnized by the Rev. P. McKague, in St. Andrew's United Church in Schreiber on May I8th. Tom McGrath was the organist. Chris Stewart, brother of the groom, was best man and Robert Nesbitt, brother of the bride, ushered. The bride wore her mother's wedding gown of white satin and English lace, in princess style, with Peter Pan collar and Lily point sleeves. Her three tier veil was caughter to a Juliet cap and her bouquet was of pink sweet- heart roses. Miss Melanie Ross, the bridesmaid, chose a long pale pink polyester double knit gown with puffed sleeves, fitted bodice, and vee neckline finished with white collar. Her accessories were in white and her bouquet of gold centred white daisies. Lisa Dawn Stewart, sister of the groom, was flower girl wearing a frock of alternating bands of white and yellow Swiss voile, with white trim, and long sleeves. Her slippers and gloves were white and she carried a nose- gay of white and yellow daisies. The bride and groom travelled to Winnipeg for their wedding trip, the bride travelling in a two piece dress of green and white check with shoes and accessories in white. They will make their home in Schreiber on Galena Street. Attending the wedding from out of town were Mrs. Alma Stewart, grandmother of the groom, of Espanola, and Mrs. G. LaMarbe of Thunder Bay. Prior to her marriage the bride was enter- tained by Mrs. B. Stevens in Terrace Bay; by the girls of Lakehead University Residence, by the girls of third year degree nursing and at a community shower in Schreiber. Miss Doris McParland and Miss Sheila McPar- land who have gone to Calgary were given a gay farewell party by friends and relations who in --cluded Mr. and Mrs. Neil Nesbitt, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Welbourne, Mr. and Mrs. Barry Harper, Mr. and Mrs. Bob McParland, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Camp -bell, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Costall, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Duggan, and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Campbell - the evening ending in the home of the girls' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon McParland with gifts presented
