MAY 24, 1973 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 7 Sports Slants --cont'd ....ves It's quite different in the other leagues. In the AL's west division, for instance, Chicago White Sox had only a one-game lead on second place Kansas City Royals, but at least the White Sox had a respectable won-lost rec- ord -- I8 wins, 8 losses. Even Canada's only team in the majors, Montreal Expos, were as good as any team in that American League east early last week. They had a I4-I5 record, but that was only good enough for third spot in the National League's east division - four games behind the leading Chicago Cubs. But let's face it, the Expos are doing pretty well. As of last Tuesday, they were ahead of defending National League east champs Pittsburgh Pirates and only the Cubs and New York Mets were ahead of them in the standings. khkkkkkik Just one more thing. See where the Fabu- lous Moolah, the world women's wresting champ- ion, successfully defended her title against Lillian Thomas last week, in Toronto. Hard to believe, but Moolah has held that world championship since I956. She'll probably hang on to her title until her daughter (if she has one) takes her on in a Texas Death Match. SURPRISE PARTY HONOURS COUPLE Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Boudreau were hon- oured at a surprise party held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Kennedy. The occasion was a preview of their 25th Wedding Anniversary, which will take place on June I9, I973. Members of Mrs. Boudreau's bridge club were co-hostesses with their hus- bands as guests. A mock wedding was portrayed, and a hilarious time enjoyed by all.
