Captain Tan Fummerton,was presented with the North Shore Midget Trophy, Mr. Caccamo remarking with pride it is the first time Schreiber has won this league. The Chapples trophy is for most gentlemanly. player in the minor hockey who combines good sportsmanship with high calibre of playing ability. To decide the winner each team makes a choice, names are placed in a hat, the one drawn is 'the winner =- this year, Shane Riley receiving the handsome trophy. Another honour was the Minor Hockey Award for outstanding service for the cause of Minor Hockey, given by the C.H.A. was presented to Curtis Martin - a popular win! - who has spent hours, sometimes an entire afternoon, refereeing minor hockey games. The award is a handsome scroll, which will become a family heirloom. Among the many working at the occasion were Mesdames Earline Johnson, Gaily Welbourne Lil MacDonald, June Dukes, Pat Moore, Joy Riley, Rena Ross, Althea Morris, Charlotte Miller, Lillian Mills, Myra Smilsky, and Miss Darlene Fummerton, with Mrs. Millie Glad, Mrs. Bobbie Winters and Mrs. Ruth Miller as the conveners.
