MARCH 28, I973 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 5 GUIDE AND BROWNIE BANQUET The I9th Annual Guide and Brownie Mother and daughter banquet was held March I4, I973 at the Moose Hall. Master of ceremonies, Anna McKie commended the leaders and local association members for making it all possible The Toast to the Queen was given by Kelly McKie and Toast to Lady Baden-Powell by Cheryl Allen. Tracy Bulawka gave the Toast to the Mothers and Mrs. S. Bulawka replied. Included in the entertainment was Brownie Pack I with Mrs. Saranpaa =- a play called the Ugly Duckling, Pack 2 with Mrs. M. McBride a play - the Brownie Story. The guides present=- ed several little skits which were very enjoy- able. Rev. McKague asked the Blessing before a delicious supper served by the Community Church Ladies. Mrs. A. McKie introduced the guests at the head table. Mrs. Hilda Hiebert made a special presenta- tion to Mrs. A. Cadieux, Mrs. S. Caron and Mrs D. Thompson for their years of service. Mrs. Hazel Howarth, Area Commissioner, pre- sented four guides, Carla Crockford, Diane Jones, Jo-Ann McBride and Sheena Caldwell with the All Around Cord which is a rare award. Mrs. D. Thompson received her ten year long service bar from Mrs. Howarth. Mrs. D. Sales- se was presented with her warrent and Mrs. C. Cvitkovich received her Commissioners pin from Mrs. Howarth. Diane Jones was presented the Guide of the Year Award by last years Guide of the Year, Leigh-Ann McBride. Sister Paulette Hatfield was guest speaker and chose a very interesting subject on "Hap- piness". She used pictures drawn by her Grade I and 2 class to demonstrate what happ- iness is.
