Stand- ings to March lo6th: Irish Regiment - 85; Spit- fires - 67; Corvettes - 64; Bombardiers =- 56%; Cameron Highlanders - 45%. High Bowler for the night was Len Swirhun with games of 185, 275, 250 for a 710 series. Congratulations to the Irish Regiment who are league champions 72/73. Members of the winning team are B. Moon, captain; J. Fisher, S. Boyd, Paulette Coupal, N. Chopty and B. St. Louis. Games over 200 on March 16 - A. Daley 282; M. Pluta 237; H. Milks 287; J. St.Louis 208; Y. Leclair 229; M. Milks'206; G. Churney 207; E. Hamann 209,248; E. Beddard 249, 217. As there could be a change in the second place standings and a four way tie exists for men's high average, it will be necessary to bowl our Jan.5th games on March 30th. Paul Coupal, Jim St.Louis, Bill Moon and Howie Cooke all have averages of 208. This would make the roll-offs April 6th. TERRACE BAY POLICE DEPT.REPORT The week ending March 18th was quiet for the Terrace Bay Police Department with only 12 general occurences. Three youths were charged with Break Enter and Theft at the Terrace Bay Public School. Two accidents occurred one involved injury. Theft of a battery was reported from the Public School truck and this is still under investigation. One transient was checked through the C.P. I.C. AUCTION SALE APRIL STH The regular meeting of St. Martins of Tours Catholic Women's League was held in the Church Hall on Sunday, March llth at 8 p.m. A Decade of the Rosary was recited in the Church prior to the meeting. The president, Mrs. G. Ramsey opened the meeting with a few words of welcome followed by the League Prayers. Mrs. A. Regis read a passage from the Jerusalem Bible followed by the minutes of the last meeting and new corres pondence by Mrs. P. Malashewski. The trea- surers report was given by Mrs. F. Helmink and the various committees gave their reports. Mrs. L. McBride, Organization, read an article from the C.W.L. Magazine entitled "A Continuing Challenge" and introduced Mrs. JF. Helmink who spoke of the importance and ob- jectives of the C.W.L. as the only National League in Canada. . Mrs. A. Regis, Church Life, read a thought- = ful poem, "Somebody Else". Po Mrs. J. Falzetta, Social Action, reminded the members of the importance of joining the Auxiliary to the McCausland Hospital and also to be a member of the McCausland Hospital Cor- poration which entitles one to attend and vote at the annual meeting in April. She also re- minded members of the "Poverty Supper" in the church basement on Wednesday, March 21 at 5 pm. where a silver collection will be taken to assist the Peace and Development Project. Mrs. Mary Dashkewytch moved the reports stand as read. Mrs. G. Ramsay read a letter from Father A. Greengrass dealing with the importance of a C.W.L. and its many values in the church and community. April is election month within the C.W.L. ; and Mrs. Ramsey reminded members of the annual | reports that had to be in. Plans for the : Auction Sale to be held on April 9th are well underway and anyone who can make a donation is asked to contact Eva Connors, Ingrid Fournier, Ricky Johnson, Isabel Delaronde, Anna McKie ; and Edna Ramsey. The League books will be audited at the end of March by Mrs. Marg Ro- berts and Mrs. Anna McKie. Used clothing is again being collected for the Missions until March 26th - please leave the articles in the Church vestibule. Mrs. A. McKie adjourned the meeting after which Holy God We Praise Thy Name and 0 Canada were sung. i Mrs. J. Falzetta then had the privelege of introducing our guest speaker Mrs. F. Helmink 1 who spoke on the theme "Alert in Our Time". Mrs. G. Dashkewytch thanked Mrs. Helmink for her most informative and alerting talk and presented her with the league cup and saucer on behalf of the members. A social hour followed. A surprise baby shower was held at the home of Mrs. Mary Ellen Stuart last Monday evening. Many friends gathered to honour Mrs. Jane Dampier and baby Lana Lynn with a basket full of gifts and good wishes. Assisting Mrs. Stuart as co-hostesses were Mrs. Yvonne Theriault and Mrs. Louise Stuart who helped to serve a most enjoyable lunch.
