COMMUNITY CHURCH LADIES AUXILIARY The Afternoon Group of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Community Church met on Monday afternoon, with a Pot Luck Luncheon preceding the business meet- ing. Mrs. June Schritt, Chairman, wel- comed the ladies to the festive board and said Grace. After an excellent meal, Mrs. Schritt called the meeting to order, and Secretary, Mrs. Lil Harris read the minutes of the last meeting and the annual report. This included a list of activities over the past year, saving used stamps Canada Packer labels, gathering arti- cles for Crippled Civilians in Toronto making Scrap books for retarded child- ren, donations to the Cancer Society, and the Canadian Bible Society and a donation to the Church Board for fur- nace repairs. Two members had been honoured with farewell gifts, as they moved away, Mrs. J. Ferrier and Mrs. W. Baillie. The Secretary read a note of thanks from the Church Board for their dona- tion. Nominations for a new slate of off- icers took place with the following Chairman - Mrs. Secr- Lil Harris. ' Mrs. Schritt reminded the ladies of the World Day of Prayer to be held on Friday, March 2nd, and Mrs. Lundberg invited the afternoon group to the Evening Group meeting on Monday, March 5th, when Mr. W. Saya of the Associa- tion for the Mentally Retarded, Thun- der Bay, will be the guest speaker. The Chamber of Commerce requested the ladies to cater to a small banquet Jean Fisher; to honour the parents of the New Year's Baby. The ladies agreed to do this, and Mrs. Schritt will convene it.
