LEGION'S 5th ANNUAL SNOWMOBILE RACES MARCH 17 Cross-country & Circuit LEGION BONSPIEL A gala crowd celebrated the finish of the , Schreiber Legion's Annual Sweetheart Bonspiel, with ones from out of town attending the occasion including Mickey McFadden, Mrs. Etta Gray, Mrs. Alice Potvin and Mrs. Betty Forbes of Thunder Bay; Albert Pearson of Sudbury and Lou Karns of Toronto. Bill Collinson was M .C.. for the presentation of the various awards and prizes, which included travel bags (presented by Mickey McFadden), cook sets, sheets and pillow cases, grocery bouchers, watches, dishes, ash trays, clocks, bar sets, lighters and sets of glasses. Mr. Collinson thanked those who's planning had made the event such an obvious success = Earline Johnson, Barbara McLaughlin, Edna Cocks, Geor- gina Davis, Doug Moore, Walter Dukes, Barry Harper and veteran curler Tommy Bolan, the time keeper, who was presented with a special gift. First in the third event, was won by Barry Harper Kay Fraser, Bill Cocks, Gordie Shultz. First, in the second event, was won by Don Tremblay, June Dukes, Barbara McLaughlin, Joan Costall. First in the first event, was won by Bill Stefurak, Helen LeBlanc, Fred McColeman, Bob McParland. Mr. Collinson paid tribute to the Hubelit rink from Rossport, which since the beginning of this bonspiel has always entered. 'Mickey' McFadden had the pleasure of present- ing travel bags, from Labatt's to Bill Stefurak's rink.
