Fraser of the Lake Superior High School faculty, found the entries both interesting and informative, revealing the young writers' con- cern with the Remembrance significance and, the plight of veterans and their families. They judged the essay of Betty-Ann McKenna excellent, recommending it be sent to the next level of competition, and, consideration given to an extra gratuity given to the author - which was done. These contests are sponsored annually by the) Royal Canadian Legion and begin at the Branch level, going on to the district, provincial, and national levels and have aroused and devel- oped a surprising response and quality of writing. POST OFFICE Schreiber Post Master, Russell Macadam, is pleased and his 'customers' elated to find that, 'as far as can be determined, anyone want ing a lock-box, will be able to secure one, when the new office is opened, which is expect ed sometime in May. Boxholders now, will retain their present number, by turning in their keys, for new ones when the new building is completed. At this time, also, the office will supply a blue notification-of-address card, which will be mailed, free of charge. An innovation is that the lock box area will be completely separate from the counter area. The change- over, it is expected may require additional staff, but, so far as the public is concerned the major concern has been met - the post office is STILL in the centre of town.
