Mrs. Mills volunteered to assist Mrs. at the regular bingos. The next meeting will be on February 6th. Smart C.P. AND T. COMMITTEE The C.P. and T. Committee, of Ruby Rebekah Lodge, held their regular meet- ing on January I4th in Mrs. Gladys Ham- ilton's home with Mrs. Elizabeth Harris presiding. A donation of $200.00 was made to Amethyst House in Thunder Bay, to be used by the Cancer Society in fur nishing the House which is used by out- patients while taking treatment in the city. The formal presentation will by Mrs. Mavis Slater, president Rebekah Assembly of Ontaric, on ary 19th. Many appreciative notes were read from ones receiving Christmas gifts from the committee whose work is entire ly concerned with social service. They maintain an extensive number of artic- les required in care of the sick in their homes, ranging from canes to hospital bed and wheelchairs for which there is no charge. It was decided to raffle a grocery hamper in conjunction with a penny auction to be held on March 9th in the town hall. All Rebekahs and Oddfellows are asked to contribute two grocery items to the hamper and two penny auction prizes. These may be taken to Mrs. Harris' or Bill Jones' home in Terrace Bay or Mrs. Hamilton's home in Schreiber, or brought to the regular meetings of either Lodge. be made of the Janu- ROSSPORT CURLING CLUB MEETING A special meeting of the Rossport Curling Club was held in the club room with eleven members present Sunday ev- ening. Brian Ray presided and the minutes were approved as read and the financial statement presented showed that the club was much in need of funds. Ways and means were discussed on how to raise funds. It was agreed that bingos and draws were the most suitable for this purpose. It was agreed that Chas. Todesco and Brian Ray would make inquir ies regarding the hiring of some local man to complete putting on the ply- wood at the rink. It was noted that the foundation hadn't been repaired on the north end of the building and that the toilets required attention. Volunteers were asked to assist in moving a barrel of oil to a better location at the rink. It was decided to run off an open- ing bonspiel to start the curling rol- ling this season. That each team is to pick his own players for this event | but that the players for round robin series of games would be drawn. The secretary was instructed to post notic- es for same. It was noted the improvements of the seat backs in the observation room by some of the ladies making covers for them. It is hoped that other members will also assist in covering the re- maining seat backs. It was suggested that new material need not be used for this purpose but could be made from old coats, skirts, trousers, etc. Following a discussion on heating the rink, the meeting adjourned. ROSSPORT TOWN TOPICS Manlio Todesco, Manitouwadge, Rachel and Agnes Todesco, Toronto and Camillo Todesco of Nipigon were recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. W. Todesco. Mrs. N. Bain has returned from McCausland Hospital, Terrace Bay. Rev. Father Hyrchenuk of Beardmore said Mass at Pays Plat Mission Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. C. Wilde have returned from a holiday with relatives in Montreal. Mrs. Geo. Goodchild and daughter Leona were Nipigon visitors recently. Mr. and Mrs. R. Lanigan and baby of Nipigon spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. D. Mushquash. Mr. and Mrs. W. Schelling were Thunder Bay visitors during the week. Messers. Lionel Hubelit and J. Miller of Wawa were weekend visitors here. Mr. and Mrs. T.F. Seppala have re- turned from Thunder Bay.
