A motion was made to send a dona- tion of $25.00 each to the Terrace Bay Carnival Committee and the Schrei- ber-Terrace Bay Association for the Mentally Retarded. Discussion took place on the Chapter Rally Day which the Chapter will be hosting on Sunday, March 4th with more to be discussed at next meeting. A raffle was held which was won by Anne Stachiw and the Pot of Gold was won by Geraldine Salesse. Lovely lunch was served by Marjorie Goodmurphy and her committee of Steffisg Dorman and Jean Pinkerton. Next meeting will be held on Wednes- day, January I7th. RECREATION NEWS Joseph Macerollo Visit To Terrace Bay - Echreiber: It should be pointed out that in addition to the sponsors on a flyer which was delivered door-to-door this past weekend, the TERRACE BAY-SCHREI- BER SEPARATE SCHOOL BOARD is one of the sponsors, which was omitted from the flyer. The Terrace Bay-Schreiber Separate School Board, the Lake Superior School Board, the Ontario Arts Council, the: Schreiber Recreation Department and the Terrace Bay Recreation Department are all sponsors of this visit. Musical Workshop-Joseph Macerollo: On Thursday evening, January I8th, Mr. Macerollo will be available to. meet with anyone interested in the com- munity to discuss informally the field of music. He will be in Room 104, of the Terrace Bay Campus and the inform- al musical workshop will begin at 7:00 p.m. The workshop is free and you do not have to register for it. Upholstery Workshop: The Terrace Bay Recreation Depart- ment will be sponsoring an Upholstery Workshop from Monday, January 29th to Friday, February 2nd, from I:00 to 4:0( p.m. in the Craft Room of the Recrea- tion Center. Registration fee for this course will be $7.00 per person and all participants must be members of the Terrace Bay Recreation Assodia- tion. This particular workshop is lim- ited to I0 people and since the course is already filled, the Recreation Office will be accepting additional names as there is a possibility of op- erating a second course. If you are interested in taking an Upholstery course, register immediately. All participants for the Upholstery workshop will be notified of a special meeting to be held to order materials and find out more about the course. Instructor for the course is Eva Connors. Hockey Action This Week: Hockey action locally this week in- volves our local Intermediates when they host Heron Bay on Friday, January I9th and Manitouwadge on Sunday, Janu- ary. 21st. Our local Intermediates are close to first place in the league and two victories this weekend would guarantee first place. Why not plan to attend the games and support our local Inter- mediates. 1973 Recreation & Swim Pool Discs: The I973 discs have arrived and will be available to the public hope- fully by January 24th. In the mean- time, all I972 discs can be used for all activities. A notice will appear | in next week's News advising all Recre- ation and Swim Pool members how they can receive their new discs. Watch for details of this next week. Junior Badminton: The second session of the Junior Badminton programme will be held this coming Saturday, January 20th, from I0 a.m. to I2 hoon, at the Terrace Bay Campus Auditorium.
