TOWN TOPICS Mr. and Mrs, Elmer Niemi and Mrs. Annie Niemi have returned home after visiting Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Laine in Sault Ste. Marie. Among those from Schreiber attending the Lakehead University Fall Convocation, to see relatives and friends receive degrees, were Mrs. Anthony Speziale ~- her husband; Mr. and Mrs. Frank MacDonald - their son Danny; Mr. and Mrs, Wesley Clemens - their sons-in-law Ronald Hamilton of Thunder Bay, and Robert Bourre of Dryden. John Small also atten- ded the exercises. Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Turner are in St. John, N.B. to attend the funeral of Mrs, Turner's mother. SCHREIBER ELECTION CANDIDATES Mr. Lloyd Small a railroad conductor, is seeking re-election to the Hydro Commission a and has just completed two years on this board. Mr. G.H. Holmes was urged by his fellow em- ployees and friends to seek election to the Hydro Commission, Although this is his first try in local politics he was previously invol- ved in the railroad Union. Mr. Holmes : . . was born and raised in Schreiber and will serve the community to his full capacity. * Mr, H.H. Fischer a railroad conductor, is again seeking re-elect- ion to the municipal Council after completing six years service, AY Mr. E.G. Caccamo has served seven years and will seek re-election to the Hydro Commission. | He had previously served four years on council, Mr. R.H. Krause, who lost last year by a very close margin will again run for Municipal Council. Mr. J.S. Caccamo, having served six years on Council is again seek- ing re-election, Mr. H, McParland, who is competing with F.V. Harness for Reeve, has completed eight years on Council.
