NOVEMBER 29, 1972 TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 11 CY BRASSARD CANDIDATE FOR COUNCIL As a resident of this community for 18 years, and deeply involved with community activities in the past and present, | decided to run for council on December 4, for a number of reasons. To the new voter, and older ones, some issues and problems facing this community in the near future should be exposed. If Regional Government should be forced upon us, with the governing body located at Thunder Bay, or amalgamation between Schreiber and Terrace Bay, what are the benefits for us, and what does it cost? Sooner or later this town should be ready to accept the responsibility of garbage, snow removal, and general maintenance of the town. A study on the costs of equipment and man hours involved must be made. A town such as ours needs the Recereation Centre, for the varied activities offered for the young and old. With the town paying for over 90% of the costs of this complex and the possibility of paying for a new heating system, and other unforeseen major expenditures, somewhere along the way, costs must be cut. Secondary industry should be encouraged, for the growth of the town. With a beautiful community, such as ours, lets all make an effort to keep it that way. If elected, I'm sure, I'll make a good honest effort in helping run the business of the town. Sincerely, Cy Brassard. 1 Legion Meeting - cont'd MEN'S CURLING NEWS officer Mr. Falzetta.
