Mrs. Colleen Persson and Mrs, Ev Knauff, of Terrace Bay were amongst 34 persons receiving a certificate presented by the Northwestern Regional Library System, following successful completion of a series of workshops on the basic aspects of library work in a small public library. Regional Library Director Alan Pepper reports that the course, which was carried out at a series of one-day workshops over the last three years, covered the fields of library administration, cataloguing and classification, selection of materials and reference work. In addition to attending the workshops, participants were required to demonstrate their competence by carrying out a variety of assignments, many of a practical nature.
