SCHREIBER FASTBALL PLAYOFFS The playoffs started August 9th with a best of five series between second place Legion and third place Mayfair. The Legion held a 1-0 lead until the 5th inning when they pushed across four runs highlighted by a three run homer by Ron Lang and went on to post a 8-2 victory. Dick Mannisto was the winning pitcher scattering six hits and striking out sixteen. Fielding proved Mayfair's downfall in the second game as the Legion came up with three unearned runs to register a 5-2 victory. The Legion wrapped up the series three straight with an unbelievable nineth inning rally in the third game! Trailing 5-0 in the last of the nineth they came up with six runs with Dick Mannisto's two out, two run single winning it. The losing pitcher Alex Gauthier pitched hitless ball for the first five innings and it took the Legion until the 8th inning to get an outfield hit. The finals start August 14th with games being played on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and Sunday. (Gibson vs Legion).
