It was a day of laughter, good natured joshing, curling and alot of stiff muscles for forst time curlers. Stiff muscles, who cares when you can win a prize, even when you lose. Mr. Rolly Sinotte donated the prizes and also pres- ented a few. A Event winners = Bunny Hayes, Betty Randa, Paul Coupal, Jean Fisher. Runners up were Dave Desros- iers, Jeanette Gunter, Sax Lundberg, Jackie Sopel. B Event winners = Tom Latour, Aldea Churney, Joe Kennedy, Peg Regis. Runners up were George Churney Diane Claney, Cy Brassard, and Eve Falzetta. Nov- elty prizes went to Jim Beddard's rink and George 'Dakin's rink. Fantaboulous says, Jim and George, and only they alone can explain what they won. But why? -- Well ! Following the Bonspiel the curlers all congregated at the Legion Hall for a Smorgasbord dinner, convened by Koski, Smith, Macleod, and Dodge. Although the music was lively, some very slow dancing with some very sore limbs were noted on the dance floor. Music provided by G. Churney, L. Pin- eault, and B. Megraw. The highlite of the day was when the King and Queen arrived to throw the first rock. The Queen Marge Hamilton with her Lady in Waiting ( Scotty ) and the King , Sam Boyd Junior, with his valet = Ethel. Oh, to be King and Queen for a day! What a dream! BRIDGE PARTY SLATED ON MARCH 22ND The Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion held their February meeting with Mrs. D. Gunter presiding. After the various committees submitted #h their reports, minutes read, and financial statements approved, a short discussion was held to hold a bridge party in the United Church Basement on March 22nd. Convenors for the events are Iris C. Smith, and Mrs. G. Calder. Thank you cards were to be sent to people who so favourably assisted during the busy month of February. Mrs. D. Gunter initiated five new memb- ers into the club which were = Mesdames Mitchell, Moore, McBride, Samann and West. Delegates to the conventions to be held in April in Geraldton are Mrs. D. Gunter, Mrs. C. Mercier, and Mrs. A. Churney. A zone meeting will be held in Terrace Bay Branch, a dinner to be served. It will ( continued next column ) be convened by Mrs. J. St. Louis, assisted by Mrs. C. Mercier and Mrs. C. Daley. Lucky winner of the pot of gold was Mrs. P. Sadaro. Mrs. P. Jones will be purchasing table cloths. The president thanked all the convenors who had worked so hard during a real busy February month, and expressed her pleasure in seeing such a tremendous turn - out at the meeting. LEGION BOWLING The Bombardiers continue to bowl well and remain in first place in the league. Paul Coupal led his team with a 724 series which included James of 243,224 and 257 .A. Daley of the same team had a 630 series with games of 245, 208 and 177. : E. Hannann had a 293 game. They took the first game with an 1140 scratch and 1220 with handicap. This is a new record beating their own 1105 scratch and 1206 with handicap. 8 Other good scores Friday night were H. Duriez 209, G. Churney 223, D. Coupal 203; J. St. Louis 263, % 225;S.
