The book has been published without interruption since 1904 and is a continuing record of expert thought and opinion on leading questions of the day. A file of cards giving information about reference books suitable for small libraries was received from the Regional Library. A free copy of the Library Trustee was also re= ceived, with a handbook giving names of libraries and trustees in Northwestern Ontario and the hours the libraries are open. Accounts amounting to $277.62 were passed for payment. Summer hours for. the library were set as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday open from 2-5 p.m. but closed all day Saturday. It will also be closed during the last two weeks in July when Mrs. Kirkpatrick, librarian, takes her vacation. : : The books have been audited and found in order by W.T. Wallace. The board was disappointed in receiving no reply as yet to their budget submitted to the municipal council for comment, with copy for each councillor to study at his leisure. -l Mrs. Christine Morris and Mrs. Helen Wallace were named by Ruby Rebekah Lodge to attend the inaugural meeting of district representatives being held in Thunder Bay. i A thank you letter was read from the Canadian Diabetic Association for a donation, and from the Schreiber High School for the bursary presented which was won by Linda Fontaine. Notice will be sent to the local council of the summer recess of the Lodge when no meetings will be held. Mrs. Beth Macadam read an article on the peace symbol which is worn on clothes and jewellery by many people in all countries. Mrs. Macadam, N.G. and Mrs. Gladys Hamilton V.G., presided for the meeting, on June 23rd, which was followed by a social hour and lun ch. Mrs. Georgina Davis presided for the meeting of the Schreiber Chapter of the Pinewood Court Aux- iliary on June 22nd. Minutes were adopted as read by Mrs. Wesley Clemens. It was decided to sponsor a walk-a-thon on September 18th. Mrs. Davis is to contact the recreation association on plans and pro- cedures for such an event. . A bake sale was planned for October 2nd. The next meeting was set, tentatively, for October 2nd, when dues will be payable and election of officers held. A special card was planned to send to Mrs. Bernm ice Jacomb, ill for many months in the Lakehead. Cards on special holidays will be sent to former local residents now in the various homes for the aged in Thunder Bay.
