Also, in conjunction with BY-LAW 445, No Dumping Signs have been placed in the area of the Open Pit on Langworthy Street, but it is the in- tention of the Municipality to allow the Dumping of old cars and rubbish, but not Garbage at this site once a year during clean-up period. NOTICE RE: DOGS RUNNING AT LARGE Numerous complaints have been received con- cerning dogs running at large. According to By- Law 405, dogs may be captured and the owner fined, or the dog destroyed after 48 hours. Council feels that the situatfon can no longer be tolerated and fully intends to prosecute any in- fraction of By-Law 405. Residents are urged to keep their dogs confined. Nancy Spillane, who completed her first year at 'Western University, was home for a brief holiday be- fore returning east where she will be employed with the Stratford Theatre for the summer. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN. , Excited pupils from the various schools in town visited the Ontario Police Detachment this week, being shown the various offices, court room, cells, etc. They were given small garbage bags and pham- phlets of safety rules for bike riding. Mrs. Gordon McParland was in North Bay this week visiting her daughter, Sister Judy and other re- lations. Sister Judy will be teaching school in North Bay this year. Gerry Blanchette, second officer in the Schreiber Bank of Montreal, has been transferred to the Fort Rouge Branch in Winnipeg. Before he left, Gerry anc his wife were honoured at a party held by the staff in Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gellert's camp at Sand Lake and on behalf of the staff, Pat Conley, the manager, presented a farewell gift. Gerry was also presented with a gift from the Kinsmen in which he has been ar active member.
