The writer feels very strongly about amalgamation of the Terrace Bay-Schreiber High. Schools under one principal. In put- ting forward some of the positive facts in favour of the move, it appears that he has made up his mind already, -with or without a full knowledge of the facts and feelings which are at the heart of the issue. : By taking a strong position in the public press, he has wilfully by-passed the Fact-Finding Committee - a properly constituted to sign his/her name to the letter. As a member of the "Fact Finding Committee" | wish to inform the public that it has not been my intent nor in my opinion has it been the intent of the committee to conceal the issue in whole or in part from the public. As soon as the findings of the committee are compiled the report will be made available to the public, at . which time, being in possession of all available information, you are urged to contact a trustee and make known to him/her your stand on the motion slated for the March 20th meeting of the Board which reads: That the Schreiber High School and Terrace Bay High School be reconstituted as one high school consisting of two campuses, effective 1 Sept. 1971, qnd with one Principal and hard-working Committee of the Board. He has slated in effect that"he has no confidence In the people who make up this Com- miffee. He is ignoring the 'process of democratic investigation and reporting. (He did not even mention that this Committee is to present its findings af the March meeting of The Board). He th assumes that all the facts are known and that he has slated them. This may be an attitude appropriate to hierarchies where one man makes a decision binding on everyone, but that is precisely the reason behind much of the opposition to amalgamation on September 1, 1971.
