Photo by 1. McCuaig. DRUG ADDICTION FILM SHOWN TO U.C.W. The United Church Women, at their March meet- ing decided to cater only for weddings of church members during the recess months of July and August. : They accepted a request fo cater for a weddin dinner and reception on August 28th. Mrs. Macadam asked members to mark April, named Cancer Month, by bringing donations for the cancer cupboard to the April meeting. Interesting reports on the U.C .W. Presbyterial and Presbytery meeting held in Thunder Bay, were given by Mrs. Wesley Clemens and Mrs. E.C. Prinselaar. Mrs. Della Moore reported on cards for various occasions she had sent during the month and thank- you notes received. The recent bakeless bake sale was reported most successful . Mrs. Oscar Niemi, sewing convener, reported two quilts were completed and sold last month. Members donated to the Least Coin project. Mrs. E.C. Prinselaar presided and read passages of modern Scripture for the devotional period. The minutes and financial statement were adopted as read by Mrs. Walter Dukes and Mrs. Bill Thrower. Following the meeting Rev. Prinselaar showed a film on drug addiction and led in a small discussion - of the problem. Sixteen were present and lunch was served by Mrs. Dukes, Mrs. Gerow and Mrs. John Spillane. BROWNIES CELEBRATE "THINKING DAY" At the "Thinking Day" meeting of the Schreiber Brownies, second pack, Mrs. Betty Huard was presented with a pin signifying five years service as Tawny Owl, by Mrs. Mary Shack, commissioner. Proficiency badges were presented to Debby Bourguignon, Karen Thrower and Lori Strasser. Taking part in the maypole twining, dressed in the native costumes of other countries were Cindy Ray, Karen Thrower, Barbara Glad, Vickie Strasser, Barbara Huard and Debby Bourguignon. Leaders of the Sixers presented bags of pennies, as they lit a candle and recited a verse for Brownies of other lands. Leaders for the meeting were Marcy Cebrario, Brown Owl; June Sisson, Betty Huard, Audrey McKay, Tawny Owls; assisted by Dale Sisson and Donna McGrath, as Packys The Brownies served lunch to the parents and friends attending. - See photos page 18
