These girls, having started out as Brownies, progressed through Girl Guides and attaining the age of fourteen, were eligible to become Rangers. A very impressive ceremony was held, with the Brownies entering the Church hall to form a Fairy Ring, where they repeated the Brownie promise. Following the Brownies, Girl Guides entered and formed a semi-circle around a table on which were nine red candles. Each Ranger lit one candle as she repeated the Ranger promise. Mrs. S. Caron, District Commission= er, then enrolled the Rangers and also Mrs. Rosalind Kenney as a Lieutenant. Lunch was served to mothers and guests.
