Entries must be in by February 24th. The Rev. Rex L. Dye, of Grace Baptist church is attending a Baptist conference in Grand Rapids, Mich. While there he will be a speaker at Wood- ward Baptist Church, in the city and in Maple Lawn Baptist church in Wyoming, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Morris are holidaying with friends in Bradenton, Fla. Mrs. Murray Welsh of New Liskeard was here to stay with the Rene Bedard family while Mrs. Bedard was ill. LEGION BONSPIEL The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 109, bonspiel was an outstanding success this year, with Edna Cocks and Len Hiller as co-chairmen. Prizes varying from blankets, sheets, pillowcases, towels, bathroom sets, trouble lights to abalone ashtrays were won by the following rinks: - First Event = 1st = Marie Wiznuk, Edith Hubelit, Borden Ross, Joan Costall; 2nd = Walter Zaporzan, Camille Perras, Marjory Durham, Russ Saarinen. 3rd = Doug Moore, Len Hiller, Helen LeBlanc, Bob Kenny; 4th = Earline Johnson, Steve Hughes, Gord Willoughby, Phyllis Turner. Second Event - Ist = Edgar LeBlanc, Myrtle Zapor- zan, Rod Bryson, Flora Bryson; 2nd - Harold Gellert, Billie Ann Sarrinen, Bill Collinson, Jim Duggan, 3rd - Edna Cocks, Ken Davis, Myra Holmes, Tom Turner; 4th = Fred McColeman, Joe Figliomeni, Carol Brown, Wilf Durham. Third Event = Ist = Bina Welbourne, Walter Dukes, Jack Bryson, Connie Bryson; 2nd = Kay Gellert, June Dukes, Bill Cocks, Jim Bryson; 3rd = Earline Johnson, Steve Hughes, Gord Willoughby, Phyllis Turner; 4th - John Wiznuk, Ruth Hiller, Allan Bourke Etta Gray. Other prizes awarded were to Don Carmesin's rink first knocked out, John Stitt's for best sports, Marie Wiznuk's for six ender and Don Tremblay's for the most unethical . Prizes were presented by John Handel at the gala evening which followed the spiel and dinner. Music was supplied by Doug Moore and Fred McColeman. Bill and Thelma Olsen, former Schreiber members, came from Thunder Bay for the event, although not curling.
