JANUARY 14, 1971 ART CLUB ELECTS NEW OFFICERS The Terrace Bay Art Club held their annual meet- ing on January 7, 1971. Minutes of the last meeting were read by Secretary A. Erickson and M. Bray gave the Treasurers report. The annual reports were then read. The meeting was then turned over to the nominating committee for the Election of new officers. A new slate of officers was brought in being: President - Mrs. A. McKie, Vice President = Mrs. Rita McBride, Secretary- Mrs. M. Pederson, Treasurer = Mrs. M. Bray, Programme - Mrs. M - Middaugh. The meeting was then turned over to the New President Mrs. McKie. An Art course in Mixed Midia is to begin this Thursday Jan. 14, 1971 and will run for 8 weeks. This will include figure drawing, portraiture, and landscaping ets. Anyone interested in taking this course please bring charcoal and paper for the first session. The next business meeting will be on Feb. 4, 197]. Meeting was then adjourned. HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY PLAN SPRING MEETING The directors of the Terrace Bay Horticultural | TERRACE BAY NEWS Society held their first meeting of the new year on Friday evening. Two new members were welcomed by Mr. Steen, president. The spring General meeting will be held on Pri - day, April 16 in the large meeting room of the Recreation Centre, for which we hope to obtain a series of slides, with commentary, by Malak Karsh; dealing with all aspects of spring flowering bulbs . Tentative plans were made for 1971 public plant- ing projects, and for a bedding plant sale early in June. It was decided that membership premiums this spring will again be Fiberous Begonias, as they proved to be a popular choice last year. It was decided that the Society will give up the Horticultural Garden Plots because of a lack of: interest by its members in recent years.
