The members of the Catholic Women's League, at their December meeting decided to send individual _ letters to the president of the C.B.C. strongly objecting to the type of program presented on November 22nd, showing by abortion, the brutal murder of an unborn infant. Mrs. Helen Stokes thanked the group for books collected which will be sent to the Mobert Reserve School . : Plans were made for a tea and penny auction on March 17th. : Mrs. Mary Shack reported that Christmas cards are still available from the Catholic Girls' Club. Following the short business meeting Mrs. Irene Moorey, the president, welcomed a group of mem-- bers of the Terrace Bay C.W.L. Mrs. Norah McGuire then introduced Jack Stokes, M.P.P. guest speaker. Mr. Stokes told of the particular and unique problems in the riding of Thunder Bay, due in part ot its vast area and isolated communities. In some communities there is a shocking lack of health pro- tection. He also dwelt on the social problems of today, saying we should be aware of our responsibil~- ities both as an individual and as a group. We should become involved and take stands on certain issues. Mrs. Rita McGrath thanked Mr. Stokes. Dean J.M. Cano conducted prayers for the meet~ ing. : Mrs. G. Dashkewytch, for the Terrace Bay group, thanked Mrs. Moorey for the invitation to attend their meeting, saying it was always interesting and profitable to see how the affairs of another group of the same organization were conducted. The evening ended with a social hour. Among those visiting during the holidays will be Lieut. Col. Lois Davis, of the Canadian Armed Forces, Ottawa and her mother, Mrs. Henry Davis of Thunder Bay South, with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Lidkea Mr. end Mrs. Ken Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wel= bourne and Mr. and Mrs. Barry Harper. Miss Valerie West of Toronto, will be with her mother Mrs. Mae West.
