LD) MBER 24, 1969 Holy Angels Christmas Party - cont'd from page 12 .. Power, Mike and Rita McGrath, D'Arcy and Nora McGuire, Ed and Irene Borutski, Ambrose McGrath and Cecile Bedard, and Martyn Ryan, with the men alternating as callers, and the ladies alternating between matinee and evening shows. Tony Commisso presented a group of three organ solos, and grade seven students gave a dance routine. A farcical skit written by Bertha Paradis, was con- cerned with the trails of a Very Merry Fairy, played by Mrs. Paradis, A Mean Kid, played by Mrs. Ruth Spadoni and other characters. The Very Merry Fairy, evoked by the Mean Kid in place of a Fairy Godmother, had her magic go badly away, conjuring up some strange people instead of those she had summoned. Freda Duggan was Gravel Gertie who, judging by her bulging shopping bags had "cleaned out" the town, was advised by the Fairy to cross the tracks and catch the Paper Train, back home. The Mean Kid promptly interjected "She won't get it - it goes east!" and the Fairy, with an evil smile replied | "Oh yes she will - right in the teeth!". Babe Spikula and Penny Caccamo as Lbcaiee from the moon, were halicious little chirruping creatures bent on thieving; Jackie Tremblay, as Hebe, com- plaining of the dullness of the gods' parties recently, ! and wondering where to serve the nectar and other libations she had on hand, was urged by the Fairy to take another whirl and return here for New Year's the men may not be gods - but they enjoy a drink! Edna Cocks as a Russian Cosmonaut, said she'd dropped in simply because she was tired of the con- fusion in space - too many people and things whirling about, and had been told she'd feel at home here - winters being the same in Schreiber as Siberia. Following the evening show the cast and others assisting were entertained at a coffee party in Father Cano's home.
