They will all, to mark | the Ist. Northshore Skate-A-Thon, receive trophies with their names inscribed. The nine who com- pleted the 30 hours will receive cheques for ten dol- lars the modest sum proving the skaters entered to contribute to Minor Hockey funds . The sum of $863.75 has already been collected and sponsors are urged to contribute the balance outstanding which will bring the total to over $1,000.00. The project was a community effort with support contributed in many and various ways other than direct sponsorship, although this was generous. The committee is most grateful to the St. John Ambulance, who were on duty throughout the 30 hours, and the Ice Fund Committee who kept the food booth open, and to others who assisted in various ways. Tom Quinton was chairman and organizer of the event assisted by Frank McKenna. Reeve Fred Harness fired the opening gun.
