Mr. and Mrs. Jim Nairn (Betty Robinson) of Buffalo N.Y. are visiting relations and friends in Schreiber. Austin Cosgrove is in St. Joseph's Hospital, Port Arthur . Mr. and Mrs. Hens Fournier, with Ricky and Linda, of Ottawa are the guests of Mrs. J.B. Fournier, visiting also with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Webb, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Singleton, Mr. and Mrs. Har- old McParland, and other relations in town. Rev. E.C. Prinselaar and their family are visiting at various points in Northern Saskatchewan and Win- nipeg for their vacation. Miss Hilda Brown of Detroit is the guest of Mrs. Charlie Pearson. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Krizan, with Cathy, Greg and Mark of Canmore, Alta. are visiting Mrs. Krizan's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Birch and others in the Birch families. Miss Carol Lalonde of Winnipeg has been visiting her mother Mrs. Ann Lalonde. Mr. G. John Lee of Tauranga, New Zealand, has been the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Miller for the past six weeks, sight-seeing and fishing in our area. DISTRICT MEN ON 300 MI. BOAT TRIP A triumphant return was made by Burton Phillips of Schreiber and Len Crockford of Terrace Bay after a voyage of some 300 miles which began at the mouth of the Aquasabon River and went as far as Thessalon, after reaching Sault Ste.Marie, passing through the TERRACE BAY NEWS locks, touching St. Joseph's Island and Bruce Mines. JULY 23, 1969 On their return to the Soo they were met and returned home overland. The trip was made in a 16 foot in- board out-board craft. é BABY BUSO BURIED IN SCHREIBER The Mass of The Angels was celebrated by Dean J.M. Cano in Holy Angel's Roman Catholic Church : at the last rites for Gary Anthony Buso, on July 17th. Gary's death at the age of three occurred after a lingering illness on July 15th. In tribute to his innocence the bier was draped in white and for the first time flowers were laid on the casket during the Mass. Pall bearers were Joseph and Vincent Maronese, cousins of the deceased, Joseph Speziale, and Donald Speziale. Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. Gary's immediate survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Buso,:his brother Gabriel, Mr. and Mrs. S. Maronese, aunt and uncle and cousins. Attending the funeral from out of town were Mrs. Natalina Eusebi, of Stratford; Mrs. Cal. Bostic, with Calvin and Lyle of Port Athur; Mrs. Fred Bevelacqua with Gary and Tommy; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Magi of Fort William; Mr. and Mrs. Tony Caranci, Mrs. Paul Coupal and Diane of Terrace Bay; Mrs. Maria Vidale and Carlo Vidale, of Marathon; and Mr. and Mrs. R. Valent, of Manitouwadge. PLAYGROUND CLASSES The children's summer playground classes, in a _five weeks' course, have begun, and enrolments will still be accepted for a short time. The classes are held at Holy Angel's Separate School, beginning at 9a.m. Monday, through Friday and lasts: until noon. Arts and crafts of various sorts are taught, "Learn- ing games', sing song games, and just plain fun games are enjoyed, with time also allowed for free play, and in addition Friday is a special event day with pe ts and favourite toys to be brought and shown. Cathy McGrath, of Fort William, who has com pleted a year of her course at Confederation College as Recreation Leader, is the director of the Schreiber program, assisted by Brenda Lalonde, Carolyn Glad, Arlene Connelly and Joyce Cluett. The girls are young enough to enjoy various activities with the children and one thing is - cont'd page 15
