PAGE 8 TERRACE BAY NEWS JUNE 26, 1969 GOLF CLUB NEWS Lake Superior Board of Education # Recently two successful ladies tournaments were held - a two ball foursome and unknown partner. We are pleased to see our new members coming out and enjoying the game and getting into the prizes. Last Tuesday's Twilight was won by Peg Wellings, low gross with Julie Rattray, low net. Novelty prizes went to P. Kelty with least putts and Ivy Pattison for the longest drive on #1 fairway. A "Monkey" tournament, sometimes called "One Club Competition" was held last Thursday and won by the team of D. Rafalant, C. Moore, J. Like, and O. Adamo. Runners-up were the team of B. Adamo, J. Rattray, J. Ferrier and J. Hall. The consolation team was H. Hamilton, Judy Rogers, N. West and M. Hanley. Novelty prizes went to team of A. Pattison, D. Coupal, D. Rattray and M. Phillips for low hole; high hole was won by J. Richards, L. West, K. Thomas and D. Koski. The Ladies and Men's Board of Directors tourna- ment were played last Sunday with Ivy Pattison win- ning the Ladies Trophy and Hec McLeod winning the Men's Trophy. On Sunday, June 29th another ladies two-ball foursome will be held at 2,00 p.m. The Ladies Club Championship qualifying round on July 5th has been cancelled and the first round for Club Champion, 18 holes, will be played on Saturday, July 12th. The second round, 18 holes, will be continued on Sunday, July 13th. The low gross in the 36 holes of play will be the Club Champion and winner of the Joe Adamo Trophy. There are other prizes in this competition and we urge all ladies to enter. A reminder that this is National Golf Week.
