Macadam said films were difficult to obtain, however there was a large demand for literature, mostly on smoking hazards and these had been distributed in the schools. Serviettes and program blanks had been sent out to most distric committies. The audited financial statement was presented and studied. Mrs. Norman McCuaig gave a very informative report on the annual meeting of the OTRDA which she attended in Toronto in May, along with Mrs. Mary, Kazmierczak and Mrs. Norma Carmody. After considerable discussion it was decided that all new business pertaining to the new association be held in abeyance until information is received from Toronto. Following the meeting a dinner was held in Moun- tainview Motel and later a social evening in the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Furlonger. ROSSPORT TRACK AND FIELD MEET Rossport Public School held their annual track and field meet on the school grounds with races, jumps and novelty contests. Mesdames Kay Bouch- ard, Prina Gerow and Violet Goodchild were cash- iers for various events. Teacher Mrs. Mildred Price was judge assisted by students Raymond Goodchild, Larry Paradis and Walter Schroeder. Announcer was Mrs. Anne Todesco. Each child received treats. ALTAR SOCIETY The last meeting of the St. Berchman's Altar Society before summer recess, was held Thursday evening at Mrs. Felix Legault's home. Nine members were present and answered roll call with an article for the penny auction sale. President Mrs. Eugene Gerow opened the meeting with prayers | for world peace. Minutes and financial statement | were passed for adoption. The annual penny auction| will be held Sunday June 15th at 7.30 p.m. Mr. Adolph King erected a beautiful electric cross on the church in memory of his deceased wife, his father and son Benny as stated in his letter to the organization. The secretary was instructed to res- pond to Mr. King's letter.
