Courtemanche LADIES' KEEP-FIT CLASSES - If there are any ladies in town who are interested in taking afternoon ex- ercises, please phone the Recreation Office (3542) and indicate your interest. We think we may have an instructress to lead these sessions for you. MINOR FASTBALL - As of this date we have received 56 registrations for girls' fastball and 104 for boys'. However, we would still like to acquire more coaches as we now have a total of 12. If you would like to help with the coaching or managing of a team, please phone the Recreation Office and indicate your inter- est. A meeting will be called shortly for all coaches and assistants . YOUNG ADULT DANCE- The Recreation Committee in conjunction with some local young adults will be holding a dance at the Terrace Bay High School this Friday, May 30th., the guest artists from the Lake- head will be a group called Merriday Park. The ticket seller and front door will remain open for the duration of the dance. MEN'S FASTBALL - If there are any. young or old men between the ages of 16 and 10) who would like to play fastball or slowball, please notify the Recreation Office. If there is sufficient interest, there may still be time to enter the Red Rock, Dorion, Nipigon, Fastball League. TENNIS COURTS - The tennis courts are now ready for use by Recreation members. The key may be obtained from the Recreation Office. SPORTS ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS - The following program of awards has been instituted by the Provin- cial Government through the Youth and Recreation Branch, Ontario Department of Education, to recog- nize the accomplishments of Ontario athletes and voluntary leaders. This program will be on an annual basis commencing with 1968 competitions. Candidates qualifying for citations and pins will be recognized at a special re- ception to be conducted at Queens Park, Toronto, during the spring session. SCROLLS - will be presented (by mail) to all Ontarig athletes who have won recognized championships in their particular sport. Citations and Pins - will be presented to all Ontario athletes who have won recognized National, Inter- national or World Co yetitions. Citations and pins - will be presented to selected in- the development of their activity of amateur sport in general in the province of Ontario over the years.
