He cited Mr. Hopper's continuous service: as officer since the inception of the organization twenty years ago. Reminiscing about the formative years, where Mr. Hopper proved to be the backbone of the endeavour to supply the district and Terrace Bay residents with the services of a Credit Union. Mr. Allen congratulated Mr. Hopper upon his acc- omplishment in receiving from the University of Madison, Wisconsin, his diploma in Treasurer-Man- ager work and related courses. Mr. Allen stated that this was a three year effort, where Mr. Hopper used his summer vacation periods to attend these classes. Mr. Angus Drexler, President of the Board of Dir- ectors, extended congratulations to Mr. Hopper, on behalf of the Officers and members of the Credit Union. Following the dinner, the group reconvened.-at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall, to-enjoy the St. Patrick's Day Social. LADIES AUXILIARY The Afternoon Group of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Community Church met on Monday afternoon with twenty-three ladies present. Mrs. Jean Roberts played for the opening hymn, President Mrs. Chadwell welcomed the members. | Worship period on the Beatitudes was taken by Mrs. J. Ferrier. Minutes were read by Mrs. H. Brooks. J Correspondence included a letter from the Crippled Civilians Society of Toronto, thanking the ladies for their assistance, and stating there were many handicapped persons employed in usefull work. « The Cancer Society requested a done f° ation and the group voted to send them $10.00. A letter from Pinewood] Court asking assistance in raising 3 money to buy an organ for the Home | was filed. Mrs. M. McCausland reported she and Mrs. Harris will again take or- - ders for Maple Syrup. Mrs. E. Evans Smith reported that odd pieces of material and wool could be turned in} and sent to Pinewood Court for use in} the Crafts. ; The unused Young People's Choir Gowns were shipped to Grace Bap- tist Church Little Current, where they could be put to good use. Mrs. Chadwell reported on her recent trip to Superior Presbyterial in the Lake- head. : The Church Board had asked the C.G.1.T. to raise $50.00 for work in welfare. The C.G.1.T. will spon- sor a Walkathon on April-26, and everyone is asked to sponsor a young person in this endeavour to raise money.
