PAGE 14. Schreiber ~ Mrs. George Lehto was in Sudbury last week to | attend the funeral of her brother, C. K. Korpela. Bert Morris is in Aylmer, Quebec, attending the funeral of his brother, Ronald Morris. Special prayers are being said in churches for the many children in town suffering from various illnesses The Schreiber Gospel Mission is now affiliated with the Hiawatha Baptist Mission and has changed its name to Grace Baptist Church. A pastor is pres- ently under appointment. Rev. R. L. Dye of North- ville, Mich., recently spoke and is expected to be in Schreiber for the Easter services. The local women's inter-faith council which includes St. Andrew's United Church, St John's Anglican, Holy Angels' Roman Catholic, the Lutheran, and the Gospel Mission, met to make arr ngements for the World Day of Prayer, a service of Prayer and Commettment. The World theme this year is "Growing Together In Christ". The service will be held in Holy Angels' Church on Feb 28 and all women in the community are invited to attend. Following the service a film will be shown and lunch served in the Parish Centre. The committee in charge will hold a practece on Feb 24 at 7.30. Miss Marjorie Bolan, bride-elect of February I5 was honored at a shower tea held in the Catholic parish centre when her mother Mrs. Pat Bolan and Miss Ann Marie McGrath assisted her in receiving . The tea was poured by Mrs. Henry Dimmery and Mrs. Russell Campell, Mrs. Tom Bolan , and Marjorie's grandmother, and Mrs. Bill Whent. Mrs. John Maclsaac was dining room hostess. The servitors were the Misses Linda Power, Kathy Le - Blanc, Jane Bailey, Judy Walker, Susan Dimmery, Debbie Lidkea, Marta Krystia, end Linda Comeau. Mrs. Prina Testori hosted the event and served luncheon. The Union Church Ladies Aid members met at the home of Mrs. Eugene Legault Tuesday evening for the regular monthly meeting. President Mrs. T.F. Seppala chaired the meeting; Mrs. Ibey read the minutes and letters and presented the financial state- ment. Several pieces of yard goods were distributed to be sewn or embroidered at the sewing Bee which will be held at the Inn on the following Monday. The hostess served refreshments . The members of the St. Berchman's Altar Society met Thursday evening at the home of Mrs: Eugene Gerow for the February meeting. Eight members were present and a new member, Mrs. Romeo Bou- chard, was welcomed into the circle. President, Mrs. Gerow led in the opening and closing prayers and discussions on the agenda. Minutes were read by Mrs. H. Legault and Mrs. F. Legault presented a very satisfactory financial statement. It was de- cided not to sponsor any money making projects un- til later in the spring. Instea, members decided to order more yard goods, wool and crochet cotton for the sewing cupboard and spent the time making articles for the bazaar table. The president extended greetings to Mrs. C. Todesco on her 41st wedding anniversary and to Mrs. P. Testori on her 43rd wedding anniversary, both of this month, and birth- day wishes to Mrs. M. Hubelit. Mrs. Annie Molinski of Beaujours, Manitoba is in the village visiting her son Lorne and a and re- newing acquaintances . Mrs. W. Hubelit returned Thursday from Port Arthur General Hospital . Anna Bain is a patient in Terrace Bay Hospital . Glen Gerow left Friday for his home in Fort William after visiting his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. M. Hubelit, the past week. Wm.
