The residents of Walker Lake Road presented a petition regarding the way in which snow plough- ing is done on their street. The resignations of W.T. Webb and W. Kinney from the rink committee were accepted with regret and replacements will be made later. Water works bills of $165.96 and general accounts of $2490.23 were passed for payment. By-laws were drawn up concerning sewage service and frontage rates. Marathon's offer of $800 for Schreiber radat system was accepted. A reserve fund, not to exceed 40% of the current tax levy as outlined by the Dept. of Municipal Affairs on November 1, 1968, was set up. Standing appointments and other business: Mrs. Mary Jarva was appointed clerk-treasurer and tax collector; Edmund Borutski - utility man; Arnold Burns - town hall caretaker; Clarkson Gordon and Co., Port Arthur - auditors for 1969; H.G. Blan- chard - town solicitor; H.J. Coe, Terrace Bay - epresentative to the Thunder Bay Health Unit, with he understanding that delegates alternate every vo years from the two municipalities; Mrs. Inez MecCuaig - ratepayer's representative to the public library board for 1969. H. McParland, and treasurer Mrs. Mary Jarva were named to make all fixed payments. Regular meet- ings were set for the second pceneee of each month at 7 p.m. A by-law covering the borrowing of $40,000. from the Bank of Montreal, pending col lection of 1969 taxes, was passed.
