ANUARY 2 969: TERRACE BAY HIGH SCHOOL The senior basketball teams from Geraldton Composite High School visited Terrace Bay High School on the 17th and 18th of January. On Fri- day evening, two games were played. Terrace Bay won the girls' game 32 - 10 while Geraldton boys were victorious 35 - 31. On Saturday morning, our girls again won their game. The boys' game was again won by Geraldton with a score of 41 - 30. All of the games were well played and the, side- line cheering from both schools added to the excite- ment. SIR JOHN A. MacDONALD TROPHY Every year since 1967 the senior girls and boys basketball teams from Terrace Bay and Schreiber have alternately competed for the Sir John A. MacDonald Trophy. On January 15th, 1969 the boys played the decisive game. Terrace Bay won 30 - 29 and so the trophy will remain in Terrace High School for another year . The girls also played a game with Terrace Bay winhing 38 - 27. Shown in the photo at the bottom of the page are the senior boys basketball team at Terrace Bay High School . One thing Canada has had that the United States never had - a postal strike. It was amusing to read of the woman who wanted quick deliver for mail before the strike started and who travelled some distance to put it in the central post office in Toronto, which some critics sa is not very prompt at the best of times.
