Meet Your Teacher se seca Mr. Deol, cecal teacher at Schreiber High School, comes to us from Gurdaspur Puy- _ab India where he was born. He attended ele- mentary and secondary. school at St Anthony » High School in Lahore. He graduated from the _ Government College Lahore with his B.A. and received his M.A. in geography by standing porets in the Puyab Universit in India. He taught for five years at Yadavindra College, ' Patiala, India. Before coming to Canada he was- ° teaching at the National Defense Academy of India for ten years. He came to Canada because he enjoys travelling. Schreiber is the only locale in which he has resided since coming to Canada. Saddie Hawkins Dance On Friday, October 18th, the Pep Club held a Saddie Hawkins Dance in the gymn auditorium. The members of the club decorated the gym suitably for . "the dance with various articles hanging from lines. ' Students enjoyed themselves by dancing to the re- - cords and some girls brought a. lunch which was eaten while sitting on the hay around the gym. The dance was something different for the students and we're sure everyone in attendance enjoyed themselves . "ticket booth". In some fields, there | Football Game A football game was held on Friday, October 18 with the students of Schreiber High playing against teachers and alumnae from Schreiber. The students were victorious and won by a score of 38 - 32. Touchdowns were made by Mr. Guerard (2), Fred McColeman (2), Paul Gauthier (2), Alec Gauthier (1), and Brian Hewson (1). Paul Gauthier also got a convert. Both sides put forth great effort making it a very close game and quite interesting to watch. Self Defense Club Pictured on page 12 are members of the } realy formed Self-Defense Club at Schreiber High School headed up by- Mr.. Gouthro, Blue Belt in both] Karafeand Jui Jitsu. The main purpose of the Self obease course is to instruct interested students in the art of defense against unarmed attack.
