McBride grandmother of the bride-elect, and Mrs. G. Lemieux, grandmother of the groom-elect, Mrs, J. Corbett and Mrs. J. Cebrario. Among the many friends from Schreiber attending the Tony Costa-Luigia Tonin wedding in Long Lac on September 2nd were Mr. and Mrs. John Trichilo, Dominic Diano, Mrs. Sarah Diano, Peter Crupi, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Speziale, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Costa, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Speziale, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Speziale, Mr. and Mrs. Vic Costa, Mr. and Mrs . Dominic Commisso, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Smart, Miss Barbara Arnold, Paddy O'Brien, and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Commisso. Mr. and Mrs. N.S. Joliceur and Tracy of Fort William visited relatives and friends in Schreiber. Mrs. Edward McPhail of Carberry, Ma. was the guest of Miss Mildred D'Arcy en route home from a visit in New Brunswick. With Mr. and Mrs. B. Gordon recently were the latter's mother and sister, Mrs. Bill Graham and Christine of Fort William and Mrs. |. Barrett of London, Ontario. MARRIED SIXTY YEARS A throng of relatives and friends from Schreiber and out of town met in the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. Moore at Walker Lake to mark their 60th wedding anniversary on September 2nd. Mr. and Mrs. Moore were married in Schreiber in the home of Mrs. Moore's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Hogg, by Rev. McAdie. They made their home in Schreiber until 1938 when they moved to Fort William, but have always maintained and returned each summer to their home at Walker Lake. A railway conductor, Mr. Moore retired in 1948. They have two sons; Douglas in Halifax, and Claude in Toronto. Also two grand- children, John Moore in Toronto and Mrs. John Bridges in Montreal . Many personal gifts were received, also many gooq wishes sent by card, telegram and flowers. Among the latter were two lovely arrangements from Mrs . Rita Carleton, Bermuda, and Mrs. Jayne Coons, in Elliott Lake, both nieces. oo Tamar TERRACE BAY NEWS _SEPTEMBER 12, 1968 Formal congratulations were also received from the Prime Minister of Canada and Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth. : During the afternoon, tea was poured by Mrs. Moore's sisters, Mrs. Ethel Glenn, Mrs. J.J. Payne and Mrs. S.B. Christie. Aniece, Mrs. M.B. Mc- Murray served the guests. A dinner, for relatives and old friends, was served in St. Andrew's United Church Hall, Douglas Moore as M.C. and his brother Claude offered toasts to the happy couple. Other speeches were humorous with fond recollec- tions of other social occasions with family and friends. The towering cake for the occasion was made by Mrs. Roy Henderson of Port Arthur . In addition to the many local guests were Mr. and Mrs. D. Moore of Halifax, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Moore and son John of Toronto, Mr. and Mrs. N. Eady of Fort William, Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Payne, and John Payne Jr.; of Grand Bend; Mrs. M.B. Mc- Murray of Collingwood; Mrs. Elizabeth Swanwick of North Kingston, Rhode Island; Mrs. Lily S.B. Christie and Mr. and Mrs. J. Conroy Henderson of Port Arthur; Mrs. Bert Newman, Mrs. Henry Davis; Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Black and Mrs. D.J. McCoshen of Fort William. -photo by |. McCuaig Mrs. R. Winters entertained some 50 at a party in honor of her husbands 80th birthday, in the cottage at Terrace Bay Beach. Among the many well wishers were Mr. and Mrs. M. Winters, Mr. and Mrs. J. Winters, Mr. and Mrs. C. Duggan (Freda Winters), Mr. and Mrs. G. Krause (Ida Winters), Mr. and Mrs. B.. Krause, Mr. and Mrs. N. Boon, Mrs. M. Huller, Mrs. E. Burton of Sudbury and Mr. and Mrs. C. Riley of Port Arthur. Many personal gifts were presented and 80 candles on a birthday cake were blown out, but with some difficulty.
