Faculty was held on Labour Day afternoon to discuss policies, programs and procedures for the (Prineipal); Miss Chisholm (commercial); Mrs. educetion); Miss Goodhead (business correspondence, tory, fortheoming school year. Michael Smilski is in the Terrace Bay Private Hospital . The following teachers on the staff of Holy Angels School took a course in physical education with the Department of Education in Toronto during the sum- mer: Miss Jane Syvitsky, Miss Sandy Dennis, Miss Muriel Holmes, Harold Shack and Gary Speck. Mrs. Frank Korpela of Sudbury has been visiting her sister, Mrs. J.W. Parent and brothers Sulo and John Pelto. Mrs. Eddie Macchi and family of Port Arthur have spent the past two weeks with Mrs. Macchi's parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank Figliomeni. Mr. Macchi will join them for the weekend and drive them home. Miss Sheila Weaver, bride-elect of this week was honored at a shower tea arranged in the Anglican Church hall on Tuesday, August 27th. Receiving with her were her mother, Mrs. Russell Weaver, her co"sin, Miss Marion Prescott, and Mrs. R. Burton. Tea was poured by Mrs. Harry Duggan and Mrs. P. Guina, Mrs. C. Boon and Mrs. M. Winters. Servi- tors were Mesdames J. Kostecki, E. Welbourne, N. Boon, J. Spikula, B. Wilson and the Misses Doris 'McParland and Rose Huard. Mesdames D. Nesbitt, L. Huard, G. Jacques and M. DROWNING VICTIM BURIED IN SCHREIBER The funeral of the late Fred Ronald Willoughby, aged 21, whose death occurred in a drowning acci- dent on August 25th, in Sutton, Ontario, was con- ducted in St. Andrew's United Church in Schreiber on August 28th by Mr. F.O. Jones of Westmount Chapel in Fort William, and Mr. Ronald Sheffield. Pall bearers were Pat Halonen (cousin), Albert Morris, Alec Gauthier, Denis Gauthier, Ray Le- Blanc, and Paddy O'Brien. Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. Freddie is survived by his parents, Mr. and -Mrs. Ernest Willoughby of Schreiber, three brothers, Ernest, Glen and Dale and a sister Donna,' Mrs. Harold Markell, of Ottawa. Jack Gordon was organist and the hymns sung were "What a Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Rock of Ages" During the service, Mr. Sheffield, accom- panying himself on his guitar, sang a sacred song. The large attendance of young people at the funer- al was particularly noted. Among those attending from out of town were Mrs. Harold Markell of Ottawa Mr. and Mrs. D.. Willoughby and family, Mr. and Mrs. G. Willoughby, Miss J. Fryar; Mr. Lauri Halonen Sr., Mrs. P. Harris, Mr. and Mrs. H.V. Gibson, Mr. and Mrs. F.O. Jones, all of Fort William, (Cont'd on page 12)
