S rt Licence to August 6 in- - Newton, Agent RECREATION BRIEFS - by David Courtemanche Terrace Bay Swim Meet The swim meet to be held in Marathon last week- end was cancelled because of poor road conditions. The meet will be held this Saturday instead. The bus will be at the Recreation Centre at 11.15 a.m. to travel to Marathon, and there will be a fare of $1.00 charged for each child going to Marathon, to assist with transportation charges. We don't expect § to have any room on the bus for adults as we will have a full complement of swimmers on hand. We understand that some of the parents will be travelling in individual cars. The swim team will be the only people travelling on the bus. Those persons wanting to know if they #1 are to attend this swim meet should contact the Swim Instructress, Marsha Hamilton for this informa- tion. On Saturday, August 3rd, the swim team will =." travel to Red Rock for the annual North Shore Swim Meet. The regular swim classes will start as scheduled on Monday, July 29th. Check the Pool Bulletin board for your class time. Adult Swimming Adults - don't forget, your swim time is from Mondays to Fridays inclusive, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. No.children or teenagers are allowed during your swimming period. If you are interested in taking the Adult Survival Course, this is conducted at the same time for those who wish to take it. Otherwise swim to your heart's content and enjoy our 78 degree water. If you find that a bit cool, we can make it warmer for you. Playgrounds Rain or shine, the Playground programme carries on. On rainy days, the programme is held in the Arena; other days (if any) it is held in the Wading Pool park area. The last day of this programme while we've got it. Many special activities have been planned for the summer by the Playground staff. Last week our special event was The Haunted House, and we apologize to the parents of those kiddies f\ TERRACE BAY NEWS PAGE 7 who went home crying. The Haunted House was constructed by the children of the Playground pro- gramme, under the supervision of the leaders, and their imaginations ran wild as Frankenstein and fish eyes came to life. For those parents who heard wild tales about fish eyes, be assured it was only tapioca. We wish to thank the parents who assisted their parents in making costumes to go.with the Haunted House theme.
