The Rebekah Degree was conferred on several candidates at the regular meeting of Ruby Rebekah Lodge, with Mrs. Agnes Bryson as pianist and Mrs. Gladys Hamilton, degree captain, as soloist. Some thirty members of Rebekah Lodges at the Lakehead were welcomed, among these were Mrs. Matilda MacDonald, past president of the Rebekah Assembly of Ontario and introduced by Mrs. Helen Wallace, P.D.D.P.; and Mrs. Mary Neseski, presented by Mrs. Anna Laine, P.D.D.S. The traveling gavel was presented to Mrs. Jean Fischer, N.G., bu Mrs. Bessie Evans. First nominations for officers for the coming year were conducted. The next regular meeting will be followed by a penny auction, convened by Mrs. Mary Husband, P.N.G. Mrs. Jean Fischer, N.G. New legislature to be voted on at the annual August meeting was dis- cussed and delegates appointed. The new officers Mara thon - president; Miss Gwen Hadley, Srlratbne: vice president; Mrs. Helen Honan, Marathon - secretary- treasurer . The meeting was preceded by a dinner in the Schrei ber Hotel, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Fed...ated Women Teachers' Association of Ontario. CRYSTAL KUSIK HONORED AT A SHOWER TEA Miss Crystal Kusik was entertained at a shower tea held in the Guild Hall on June 5th. Assisting her in receiving were her mother, Mrs. Stanley Kusik, her finacee's mother, Mrs. Alec' Gordon, and Mrs. V. Costa. The tea was poured by Mrs. W.E. D'Arcy and Mrs. G. Gordon, aunts of the bride-elect, Mrs. Bill Paradis and Mrs. Rene Bedard. The servitors were the Misses Billie Ann Cocks, Cathy Herlihy, Neldine West, Loreen Kusik, Anna Fummerton, and Mesdames B.
