PAGE 18 'Schreiber - C.W.L. DINNER A SUCCESS Miss Penny Parks won a collection of Centennial coins_in the draw at the Catholic Women's League dinner on March 17. The tickets were sold by Mrs. Charlie Pearson and Mrs. L. O'Brien. A basket of flowers was won by Mrs. J. Cebrario. The very large throng who attended the dinner were welcom- ed by Mrs. D. McGuire, president, and Mrs. E. LeBlanc, cashier. Servitors were Mesdames M. Eusebi, F. Speziale, E. Welbourne, V. Costa, P. Speziale, C. Des- moulins, D. Connelly and the Misses Prescott, Figliomeni, Noreen Needham, Barbara Stefurak, Betty McGuire, Cora Spadoni, Colleen Cosgrove, Sheila McParland, Mary Lou Karns, Linda Sisson, Lenore Campbell, and Linda Connelly, all wearing gay shamrock bedecked aprons. Davis presided for the regular meeting of the East Thunder Bay Tuberculosis Association, held in the home of the secretary W.G. Furlonger, on March 17. Mrs. Davis reported on the O.T.A. meeting she attended in*Toronto and Mrs. N.A. McCuaig re- ported or *..e secretaries' conference held at the same time. It was decided to hold the annual meet ing on April 28th. Dr. Robert Walker, of the Dis- trict Health Unit thanked the E.T.B.1T.B.A. for assistance with a clinic held in Nipigon. Edward Lyle of Toronto commended the Association on the success of the campaign. L.W.C. The Northstars got off on the right foot very quick ly, as Butch Speziale scored from in front of the net on passes from Stan Spadoni and Pat Spadoni, then Schreiber's Webb made it 2 - 0, scoring with Nip- Rock defenceman Winfield in the penalty box., Ross and Bailey assisting. Speziale got his second goal late in the period, banging in a pass from Stan Spad oni and Pat Spadoni, and ended the period 3 - 0 for Schreiber. The second period was scoreless, but both goal- tenders showed some fine saves on shots. The game broke open in the 3rd period with the Rangers Kowalick spoiling Condies shutout, batting in a rebound, Marcel Boudreau and Celinski assist- ing to make the score 3-1 for Schreiber. The North stars kept pouring it on, and Pat Spadoni set up Bill Webb with a perfect breakaway pass, to make it a 4 - 1 score for the 'Stars. Nip-Rock's Marcel Boudr reau cut the lead to 4 - 2 taking a pass from Mahon-| ey and beating Condie from close in. Then the _ 'Stars took advantage on a hooking penalty to Win- field, as Bill Webb scored on a power play, being set up in front of the net by MacDonald and Spez- iale, and with time running out Dave Bailey banked a shot in the net off a Nip-Rock defenceman's leg Stan Spadoni assisting, to make the final score 6-2 for Schreiber.
