Friday, March 15th - Possible Folk Music Concert ART COURSE PLANNED FOR MARCH 22,23,24th The Terrace Bay Recreation Association, in co- operation with the community programs service, Ontario department of education is sponsoring an art course on drawing and portrait painting, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, March 22,23 and 24th in Meeting Room #3, The course will be conducted by Harold Norring- ton a graduate of drawing and painting courses - 'Ontario College of Art. Mr. Norrington has had various teaching experiences and attended the Com- munity programs service district leadership courses held at the University of Guelph in '65 and '66. Also an oil painting course at Geneva Park. He ex hibited his work in the Canadian Society of Graphic Artists in 1967 at Ottawa and Toronto. Also at the Thunderbirds - 5 NEWS 2 PAGE 11 Society of Canadian Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1965 and 1966. 5 The course will provide instruction in gesture draw- ing; contour drawing, portrait drawing with oils on canvas or panels. It will open to all interested per- sons wishing to pursue drawing and portrait painting. Registration fee has been set at $5.00 per candidate. Enrolment will be limited to the first 20 applicants . Application forms may be obtained from the Terrace Bay Recreation Association or from Mr. David Court- emanche, and must be returned no later than Wednes- day, March 20th. KENNY RINK WINS KIMBERLY-CLARK TROPHY Dan Kenny made a perfect last rock take-out to win the coveted Kimberly-Clark Mixed Curling Trophy on the weekend. The extra end thriller a- gainst Bob Roberts was a real crowd-pleaser . Sixteen rinks participated in this event and all con cerned enjoyed the curling and the social activities.
