LAKEHEAD UNIVERSITY NEWS RELEASE QUETICO CENTRE HOSTS AMATEUR FILM WORKSHOP q Quetico Centre announced that it will host Cana da's first Amateur Film Workshop, April 21 - 28. The National Film Board of Canada has appointed three of its award-winning staff members to head up the workshop: John Howe (co-ordinating producer) Dennis Sawyer (film editor) and Paul Leach (camera men). The workshop has been arranged in response | to an indicated need by individuals, universities, businesses and others in North-western Ontario. It is designed specifically for the school teacher, the university professor, the businessman the home mov . movie maker. Workshop participants will produce a five-minute film during the week-long sessions. Also included is instruction on lighting, editing, titling, contin- uity, special effects as well as scenarios, scripts, shot lists, aesthetics and meaning. Interest in the workshop is high. Participation has been indicated by representatives of business and education, some of whom are currently making use of or planning to incorporate into their programs} the art of film making. Computer Courses offered by Lakehead University Computer Centre are proving to be very popular with Lakehead residents. The first Basic Computer Concepts course has been over-enrolled and a second six-week Concepts course is now planned to start on April 30. It will be held every Tuesday and Thursday at 7 p.m. in Room 429. Enrollment fee including texts is $50. Final day of registration is April 20.
