Public Skating - New music tapes have just arrived at the Centre and add considerably to the enjoy~ ment of pleasure skating. The programme is proving quite successful, and special commendation should be made to parents who are bringing their children to the arena to skate. Regular public skating sess- ions are held as follows: Wednesdays - 1.30 - 3.30 (pre-school skating) " - 3.30 - 5.30 (public skating) Fridays - and 7.00 - 9.00 p.m. Outdoor Community Ice Rink - There is an outdoor skating rink located on the Tot Lot in the Poplar |} Crescent area. This has been constructed and maintained by the neighbours in the adjacent area; however, this ice surface is available to anyone" wishing to take advantage of outdoor skating. ~ Most evenings the area is well lit. We think we : should take our hats off to these citizens who have worked so hard to provide this outdoor recreation area. TERRACE BAY FISH AND GAME ASSOCIATION At the annual meeting held this month the following offi- cers were elected: President - Roy Keller, Vice-President- Frank Sutherland; Treasurer - Elmer Persson and Secretary - Stan Hodgkiss. Regular business included a discussion on 1968 memberships and it was decided to once again offer membership in the club to include liability insurance of $100 per member. The matter of Hunter Safety Training classes was also re- viewed and a survey will be made to determine if there is sufficient demand in the community to continue with these classes. The Northwestern Ontario Conservation Federation is pleas- ed to announce the creation of a scholarship for the purpose of assisting a Grade 13 student, from Northwestern Ontario, towards abtaining a degree in Biology or Forestry. Total value of this award will be $600 extended over a four year period. Qualification for this scholarship is to be based on aca- demic standing and need for assistance. The student mst also be a Canadian citizen, attending a Canadian university, after having been resident in Northwestern Ontario. The award will be known as the "Robert Shultz Memorial Scholarship", in mem- ory of the late Robert Shultz of Red Rock who for many years was active in the field of conservation education, on behalf of the Federation. The Terrace Bay Fish & Game Association is an active mem- ber of the Northwestern Federation, which in turn is designat- ed as Zone One of the Ontario Federation of Anglers & Hunters. MIXED CURLING SCHEDULE Due to the coming events -O'Keefe Mixed, Sweethearts' Spiel, and the K-C Mixed, the mixed regular curling schedule must now include two Saturday night draws. The revised schedule, which. is now posted on the club notice board is as follows: Fridays - February 2nd, 16th and 23rd. Saturdays - February 17th Fridays = March 8th, and 15th Saturday: - March 16th Watch your schedule for these changes. REBEKAH NEWS (Continued from page 3) Yuletide Motif.
