Phone 3251 COUNCIL QUOTES (from Page 1) The undertaking, planned to accommodate around 600 students will offer, in conjunction with the existing working agreement with Schreiber High School, an educational program equal to any of the large composite high schools elsewhere in the province. The debenture request includes $60,000. for additional staff homes. In approving the debenture request the Reeve and Council conceded that a proposal of this magnitude would, in all probability, go to a plebiscite. Board representatives attending the meeting were Mrs. F.Cruickshank, W. Farrell, C. Linton and H. Boudreau . A regular council session followed the first meeting. Minutes of the last meeting were adopted and business arising from them discussed. Negotiations were underway to re-locate the Kiwanis Safety Sign which, in its present location does not conform to Department of Highways specifications. Representa- tion will be made to Mill authorities re South Camp water supply. It will be up to Terrace Bay Scout Committee to apply for an access road from the high= way to the site of their proposed building. This location is west of the Recreation Centre on Highway 17. Aresolution was passed to make application to the O.M.B. for approval of the High School Build- ing program. One councillor voted against the motion on principle. Terrace Bay's request to have a division court established here was turned down. Council agreed that a meeting with company officials to discuss the housing situation and avail- ability of building lots should be held soon.
