TERRACE BAY NEWS SCHREIBER NEWS Mrs. Marya Johnson was hostess for a farewell party for Mrs. Gina Smith when a living room clock was presented by the following friends - Mesdames Irene Bolan, Bern. Jacomb, Millie Glad, Thelma Searles , Ruth Maclsaac, Jean Crook, Kay Gellert, Yola Cebrario, Susan Wojciechowski and Miss Anna Fig- liomeni. Mr. & Mrs. John Stitt had the former's father, Jame} Stitt of Renfrew, and uncle William Stitt of North Bay, visiting them. Mrs. Larry Bourke and Mrs. Borden Ross have gone to Toronto to see their sister Olive (Mrs. Cecil Sny- der) who is ill there. Mrs. Gary Drake is in McKellar hospital and Mrs. George Walsh is in St.Joseph's hospital, Port Arthur. George Duncan is in Sault Ste. Marie visiting Mr. and Mrs. Leo Aber. Eddie Gerow is in Toronto General Hospital . Mr. & Mrs. George Smith of Richmond Hill visited old friends here this week. George was on staff of the Bank of Montreal when E.Hesson was manager. Lois LeBlanc is home from Winnipeg visiting her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Arthur LeBlanc. In 228 duty hours patrolling 3,873 miles, from April 9 to 15, Corp. Kulmatycki, OPP reports no traffic mishaps. Two motorists were charged under the Ontario Highway Traffic Act and fifteen warned regarding vehicle equipment. Nine transients were assisted with meal tickets from the Schreiber Trans- ient Fund. SCHREIBER STUDENT TO UNITED NATIONS _ During February and March six students of Schreiber High School prepared themselves for an examina- m tion to see who would be successful min becoming the delegate, in the mame eighteenth annual Oddfellows United Natichs Pilgrimage for Youth this summer. The loca! delegate is sponsored jointly by the Odd- fellow and Rebekah Lodges. Successful candidate this year is Douglas Stefurak, son of Mr. & Mrs. William Stefurak. Douglas, pictured above, is the first Schreiber student to win the award. Students are sent from both United States and Canada. Lawrence's grade two pupils put on a Centennial number at the Public School weekly auditorium show displaying the provincial coat of arms and giving recitations. The placques used by the children were made by the Gospel Mission ladies and will later be mounted. Mrs . Barclay McCuaig joined her sister, Mrs.Leo Payette in Fort William to fly to Victoria to visit her father, George Smith, who is very ill. Mr: Smith is a former reeve of Schreiber . Mrs.Teri Nelson has returned home after visiting relatives and friends at the west coast. Rev.and Mrs. C.E.Prinselaar entertained the United Church Board of Stewards and the Board of Session at dinner last week when Rev. Stiven, former missionary in Zambia, was here to speak in the Church. Mr .Stiven addressed the United Church women during the afternoon and a public gather in the: Church in the evening, illustrating his talk with films. ROSSPORT NEWS Librarian Joyce Yandon expects a new supply of books this weekend. Mrs .Eileen Rouble and Miss Patsy Gerow were hos hostesses for the 500 Card Club when members met for the weekly session. Prizes were won by Mrs. Bertha Lif, Mrs. ee Yandon, Mrs.Len Ibey.
