A shower in honor of bride-elect Alice Jean Mc Kechnie, will be held in the Community Church on Tuesday, March |4 at 8.30 p.m. Among the many gatherings arranged for Neil Cornthwaite before his departure from Terrace Bay last Friday were dinner parties at the homes of Mr. & Mrs. F. MacMillan and Mr. & Mrs. A.Teskey. The staff of the Terrace Bay Motor Hotel held a tea when Neil was presented with an oil painting and a wallet. From the Chamber of Commerce he received at the last meeting, a beer mug suitably inscribed. At the Kiwanis meeting, honoring Neil, he received an inscribed gavel. JOINT BROWNIE - GUIDE BANQUET PLANNED At a meeting of Terrace Bay Guide Association, chaired by Sylvia Duquette, reports were read and approved and a thank you note from Helen Brooks read, thanking the Association for the cup and saucer presented to her on retiring after ten active years. Plans will be finalized for a Mother and Daughter Guide - Brownie Banquet to be held in April. Also EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH - Rev. M.Kaija Evening Service every 2nd and 4th Sunday at 7 pen. Bible Study every first and third at 11 a.m Mrs. Dot Thompson displayed figures of an elf and an owl which together with a giant toadstool will be placed in the Brownie Garden in Centennial Park. The figures were designed and cast by Mr.A.Farrow. During a social hour and lunch, Mrs. D.Thompson received her Brownie cup and saucer marking her 5th year as Brown Guider. Both Brown and Blue Guiders will attend the train- ing session to be held in Marathon March I8th. Baby sitting and transportation expenses will be paid by the Association. Mrs. E. Berndtsson was in the Lakehead attending the Cancer Society District Campaign Seminar . Mrs. W. Anderson attended the Children's Wel- Fare meeting in the Lakehead recently.
