Crushed and set in an opalescent plastic base the hidden lighting will glow through the rock, which together with the sparkling water falling into the illuminated splash pool, will be a sight to be rememb ered by all who see it. Situated right beside Highway 17, the fountain and its adjacent park area will rpove an attractive stopp- ing place later this year and in the future. A quiet spot, shrubs, trees and flowers, gravelled walks and unique benches will delight travel weary passers-by inviting them to stop awhile. The park has been made possible by contrib utions from many organizations in Terrace Bay. Shrubs, trees, flower gardens, benches, masonery etc. have been or will be donated or planted by: Kimberly- Clark, Terrace Bay Hydro Utility, Fred Barbini Ltd., Public School and St. Martin's School, Horticultural Society, Catholic Girls' Club, Canadian Girls In Training, Catholic Women's League, Girl Guides, Brownies, Knights of Columbus, Order of the Eastern Star, Masonic Lodge, Terrace Bay Nurses Group, Teen Town, Student's Council, Men's and Ladies Curling Clubs. Two major projects are still not spoken for. These are the steps leading down to the parking lot, and fencing around the lot. Any organization which has not decided on its area of participation in the community Centennial project is urged to contact the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Mr. A. Farrow so that everything will be ready for spring planting. Thanks largely to efforts of Mr.Farrow and his committee, plants, shrubs and grass seen has been ordered. It would be unforgivable if such an attract- ive project were not finished because of lack of community effort. A last resort would be to hire labour as is required.
