September 29, 1966 TERRACE BAY NEWS Page 5 RECREATION BRIEFS - by Buck JUNIOR HOCKEY The hockey season is starting to roll around and from all indications it looks as if there will be a junior team in Schreiber and Terrace Bay as well. Both communities have formed hockey teams, with committees appointed, but we are wondering if there will be enough junior hockey players for both towns. In Terrace Bay, Joe Heenan will head up the club as president, with able assistance from Freddie Mc- Millan, Gus Drexler and John McDonald. In Schreiber the president is J.McCowan and other committee members are Leon Verdoni and L .Hiller. Those who took part in the Senior Golf Tournament are shown above with the winner, Joe Adamo, holding the 'trophy. UKRAINIAN SMORGASBORD AND DANCE On Saturday, October 22nd, at the Moose Hall, commencing at 6 p.m., there will be a Slavic Smor- gasbord and Dance held for the people of Terrace Bay and Schreiber. The Smorgasbord will consist of a variety of European foods. The entire evening will be built around a Ukrainian wedding celebration. The music will be provided by a band from the Lake- head that will specialize in old time waltzes and polkas. One of the instruments to be played is the Dulcimer, which we very seldom hear in this area. Tickets will be available through the Recreation Office. This evening is open to one and all - whether Ukrainian or not. No minors will be allow- ed to attend. REGION SKATING CLINIC HERE NOVEMBER. 4-6 The Canadian Figure Skating Association, in co- operation with the National Fitness Council and in collaboration with the Professional Skating Associa- tion of Canada, announce that the Canadian Figure Skating Regional Training Clinic will be held at Terrace Bay, November 4th to 6th.
